Laid Up in Oleta

Okay so here’s a couple problems we’re facing:

1- We both may be battling the onset of the flu or a bad cold

2- We could not secure hotel accommodations at our next stop until tomorrow.

So we have to spend an extra day at Oleta River State Park. Not bad since it gives us time to dose up on Vitamin C, B6, and B12 and grab some needed rest. Paddling with aches, pains, and a fever isn’t fun (Oh, we walked a couple miles to the store and got some orange juice and chicken noodle soup).

Keep your fingers crossed. We need to do 17 miles to make it to our hotel tomorrow.

Advance Around,

Marc and Jim

OJ and more OJ. Take time to recover and enjoy the Florida sun. Its17 here in Charlotte and these southerners don’t know how to drive in snow….the few flakes that we did have. God speed, Nancy

  3. I like the Drink idea pretty good. Enough “Jack” and you won’t notice the Colds or the fever or the long distance you have to concur. Could find someone with a small boat and hook a tow line to the back and just ride??? 🙂

Curious for sure. At first I dismissed the comment about the live stock at Teachers. then I remembered that the CDC recently issued a warning about the Asian tiger mosquito making headway down that way. It’s carrying in the Chikungunya virus from the French side of St. Martin in the Caribbean, The virus is carried by the same mosquitoes that spread dengue virus. So… it could be from a varmint. Even if it is ‘just’ the walking flu, DEET up when the biters swarm.
