Gale Force Winds

The hot topic around here is the weather. The marine forecast calls for some pretty severe winds with gale force gusts Tuesday and Wednesday. Plus temps drop into the mid 30’s. Brrrrr…..

After some discussion we’ve decided to stay put in the campground one more night.

We will re-access tomorrow. Not a whole lot you can do if the weather decides to collapse around you.

I’m following your adventure and enjoying it a lot. Just go with the flow and be safe. I was thinking of meeting up with you in Key West, do you have a eta? I have a lot of flexability.

Consider taking the inter-coastal waterway which would bring you to mile 204 Battery Park in @3 days with one known water source; one issue may be increased traffic on the IWW because of others with the same idea – I met three or four boats in ’11 – all with good boating-manners. There is a bit of open bay to cross as well – winds will whip up a pretty good chop in shallow water. Need to have the coords for the campsites – all primitive campsites with little chance to bail should it be a bad idea.
