Today was epic! We hit the Gulf. Actually we got squirted into it since the outgoing tide was so strong.
Jim posted a video showing conditions early in the day. The tidal current was so bad we decided to wait it out and landed on a floating jet ski dock across the east pass next to a tourist area in Destin. Grabbed a quick hamburger, beer, and hit tea. Mmm, mmm, mmm…
What was so amazing about the gulf was how emerald green the water was. No wonder it’s called the emerald coast. Everyday we see pods of dolphin. Cool.
Tonight we are at Henderson State Park. Jim and I both survived the surf landing.
We had to secure our yaks at a beach board walk then hump all our gear about a tenth of a mile to our camp site. Not fun.
Tomorrow is another day…..
